  3. Sweet! I've been playing around with roasting cherries this summer – and it's pretty much the same as what you did on the stove top. I've had a jar of them on the go in the fridge all summer. It's great over vanilla ice cream – but I love the sound and look of this cake. Will be trying soon!

  5. Looks awesome. Darn, I was hoping you were gonna taste it. I love when you correct (edit) yourself, LOL…Don't get me wrong…whipped cream is great, but I always see cakes like this with the ole predictable whipped cream topping. Is it a "crime" to use like a buttercream or similar type of icing/frosting in this application? Now a chocolate cake with cherries AND with a rich decadent frosting would really be over the top in my opinion!!
