The best STRAWBERRY HAND PIES recipe!



Let’s put our hands together for homemade, handmade STRAWBERRY HAND PIES!
This STRAWBERRY HAND PIES recipe is one that family and friends just love. Why? Because our easy-to-follow guide will help you make a homemade sweet treat that’s a winner, hands down!

Here’s a quick review of some of the key steps:
PASTRY – Those of you familiar with pie dough may be a bit surprised when we call for sour cream to bind the mixture of butter and dry ingredients, but it gives the pastry a heavenly richness that still results in that all-important flakey finish.

We also worked a bit of lemon zest into the pastry, adding both fragrance and a memorable citrus note to each and every bite.

FILLING – In a perfect world, you’ll make this recipe using freshly picked wild strawberries, but if conventionally grown berries are all you can find, use them. In prepping your strawberries, remember that these STRAWBERRY HAND PIES are dainty, miniature little gems, so it’s essential to cut them up into smaller bits than we normally would for a standard pie.

Although it’s expected that these pies will “weep” a bit as they bake, we suggest draining away any excess liquid from the berries right before you transfer the filling onto your circles of dough.

EGG WASH – We tested this recipe using two different egg washes, one made using water, the other using milk. In the end, we’re convinced that beating an egg with a tablespoon of whole milk is the best method. The hand pies come out of the oven beautifully glossy and nicely browned.

SUGAR, SUGAR! – There are two moments during the preparation of these pies where the addition of sugar amps up the wow factor. The first is when we brush them with the egg wash and add a sprinkle of granulated or cane sugar right before they go into the oven to give the pies a bit of sparkle.

The second is adding a dusting of icing sugar once the pies come out of the oven and have had a chance to cool. Don’t go crazy – a whisper of icing sugar is perfect just before serving and yes, I’m calling it a whisper. Shhh!

Introducing Petty Betty Berry Cobbler and Spiked Lemonade – formerly blueberry cobbler

I’m a blogger not a baker. Promise you this is too simple to be so delicious. Think butter batter berries…

Berries:
Two 16 ounce packages
one cup sugar
two cups water

Batter:
1 Cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla

Now this: butter batter berries and bake

Lemonade 🍋 🍋
Two farmer lemons
Two quarts water
Simmer on stove to steep
#dontsqueezethelemons
Add leftover berry syrup
Sweetened and spike!

Note: Ingredients may require more depending on brands and fruit choice. Real bakers might throw in pinch of salt but our flour (self rising) and butter were salted. Keep it simple. .

THE BEST VEGAN COOKIES EVER | Chocolate Chip & Walnut Cookies | The Edgy Veg



These vegan chocolate chip cookies are seriously the best cookies EVER. The combination of the crunch from the walnuts, the salt and the chocolate, combined into a giant, moist cookie make them to die for (and HIGHLY addictive).

I will eat this whole batch to myself, there is no possible way to stop. I’m like the Cookie Monster without the blue hair. So if you have a cookie addiction like me, making a full batch can prove highly dangerous. You have been warned.

To make, line a large baking sheet your silicon baking mat (or with parchment paper) and preheat the oven to 375F. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. In a standing mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, or in a large bowl with a hand mixer, cream butter and shortening until they come together, about 1 minute. Add both sugars and beat for an additional 1 1/2 minutes, or until well combined. Beat in the foamed aquafaba and vanilla extract until mixed. Add flour mixture, 1 cup at a time, and beat. It’s important not to over beat. Using a spatula or a paddle mixer, fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts. Divide the dough into 12 even pieces, shaping them into rough balls. They do not need to be perfectly round, so, DO NOT ROLL THEM. I use a scale for this, but you can eyeball it. Place all the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes, or up 8 hours. Bake cookies for 15-20 minutes, until light golden brown. You do not want to over bake these, so take them out earlier than you would normal cookies. They will continue to cook as they cool. Remove from oven and place on a wire cooling rack. Enjoy them with your loved ones, if you have the self control required not to eat them all yourself.

Notes: You can leave out the walnuts if you have a nut allergy and replace with more chocolate chips or another nut or seed of your choosing. Make sure the cookie is under cooked. It will keep baking as it cools, so be sure to take them out of the oven early.

I Made & Ate ONLY Avant-Garde Vegan’s VEGAN 100 Cookbook Recipes for an ENTIRE day (7 Recipes!!!)



Today was yet another beautifully, fun day! I spent the entire day making recipes from Gaz Oakley’s Vegan 100 cookbook! Everything I made was super delicious, and I highly recommend getting your hands on the book!

***Here are some things I forgot to mention in the video! I don’t think the chorizo sausage tastes EXACTLY like traditional chorizo, from what I remember at least, BUT, like I said, it was still delicious! Also, the chilli was super, super yummy.. the cinnamon gave it a unique and comforting taste. Unfortunately, there are not pictures for every single recipe, which I find to be a huge bummer.. Over all, everything was pretty delicious, and I am looking forward to making more of his recipes!

PAVLOVA RECIPE – Dessert – Fatma’s Kitchen



Pavlova is a show stopping meringue dessert and is easier than you think! Mini pavlovas have crisp and crunchy outer shells and marshmallow-like centers. They melt-in-your-mouth..
It’s a unique dessert that will surely impress your guests.
INGREDIENTS FOR MERINGUE :-
5 Large eggs white
1 Cup Sugar
1/2 Tsp white Vinegar
1/2 Tsp Corn Starch
1/2 Tsp Vanilla

FOR FILLING-
Whipping Cream
Sugar
Vanilla Essence
Some Fruits-Strawberry,blue berry
Mint

RECIPE –

Whisk the egg whites until soft
Gradually add 1 cup of sugar slowly while still beating
1/2 tsp Cornstarch
Add 1/2 tsp Vanilla
Whisk until soft peaks form (medium-high speed)
Place a Parchment Paper in a Tray and fill this mixture in piping bag
Pipe 10 mounds

With the back of a spoon,create a hollow in each mound
Bake ( for 1 hour,10 minutes)
Turn off heat ( let stand in oven for 30 mins )

FILLING
Whipped Cream :-
1 Cup Heavy Cream
1 Tbsp White Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
Beat until peaks form
Decorate with Whipped Cream
Top with Strawberry,Blueberry and mints leaves
